Eleanor Chance Hi Andrea,

I'm doing well and still working on my second novel. Hope to have it out later this year.

How are you doing and how is your writing journey going?

Cheers,
Eleanor
Eleanor Chance The idea came to me from a patient in a hospital where is was working.
Eleanor Chance As I mentioned in another answer, I love to go for walks. That's a surefire way to get the wheels turning. I also have my "writing playlist." Musical lyrics have some of the best writing there is. I also read almost every day. Seeing the mastery of other authors inspires me to try harder and continue to grow.
Eleanor Chance I'm currently working on the first book in a trilogy about a doctor who must survive a post-global natural disaster to save her children. I have a stand-alone historical fiction work about a female artist in renaissance Italy started, too. After that, I'm planning a series about the exploits of an impetuous travel writer who manages to get into trouble wherever she goes.
Eleanor Chance Two things:
1) Make yourself write even if you aren't feeling particularly creative. Don't wait around for your muse or inspiration to strike. Create a writing habit or routine. In time you'll learn to call up your muse whenever you need her.

2) Don't give up! The writer's life is challenging and often discouraging, but it is so worth sticking it out through the difficult times. There's nothing like the feeling of holding your first published book in your hands. It can happen for you!
Eleanor Chance Writing is my passion! I'm at my most contented when the words are flowing out of my mind and onto the page. That doesn't mean it isn't hard work, but there's nothing better then getting to do what you're passionate about for a living.
Eleanor Chance This is a common question that readers ask, but writer's block hasn't been much of an issue for me. I usually have more than one project going at a time, so if I get stuck on one work-in-progress, I switch on another one. This keeps my creative juices flowing. I also prepare with a brief plan for what I'm going to write each day before I start.

On days when I'm having a hard time getting started, I go for a walk, and before long, I can't wait to get home and start writing.
