I find that music does a lot to set my mood, so I like to make a soundtrack for each individual book we're working on. I listen to it, and it puts me in the right frame of mind for that story. For Tales of the Wendy, book 2, for example, I'm listening to a lot of Lindsey Stirling.
If I'm really stuck and music isn't working, I stop reading other books, so my creativity isn't being pulled in different directions. Then I step away from it and go do something else. Maybe a hike, or a quick road trip. Or bouldering. Anything to jar that creative spark awake again.
