Wren Hunter I'll keep this simple. If you want to write, then you just have to sit down and do it. There isn't any fancy fandangle thing about it. Yes it's going to be rough, it's going to be a lot harder then it is going to be easy, and there is going to be a lot of doubt resting on your shoulders, not only from others, but also from yourself.
So on a daily basis, no matter how much time you have, sit yourself behind that computer screen/notepad, open up the document, and write. It doesn't matter how much you write, whether it's 5000 words or 50 words. The difference is, is that you made it one step closer to your end goal, and that in itself is a daily achievement.
Don't put pressure on yourself, just have fun!
Wren Hunter Sometimes getting inspired to write is a difficult thing on these dreary days, but when i do need it, i simply just sit down and read. By the time i've finished im always up and ready to be working on my world and to show people just what i can achieve.
Another inspiration that works on a daily basis is thinking about my overall dream that i want to achieve through the pages of a paperback. This always, without a doubt, gives me to motivation to place myself behind this laptop and write to my hearts content!
Wren Hunter The idea for Origin and the series as a whole was a little miracle that sparkled through the air and landed into my thoughts.
I'd be previously drafting and redrafting a contemporary, and even though the manuscript had been finished for over a year, even with daily work on it i just couldn't get it right enough to be satisfied with the outcome.
So, while on the edge of thinking "is this writing thing really for me", i put the manuscript to the side, crawled under my duvet and went to sleep.
This is where Origin made it's break through into my thoughts via a dream. I'd dreamt originally about a boy jumping from the roof of a huge building in front of his friend, but before he hit the ground his body disapeared, and on the floor replacing it was a amethyst amulet that glowed in the centre, and that was the beginning of this new reality.
It didn't take long from there for me to draft out the plot line, even though it has changed dramatically from the original storyline, but i will always hold thanks to these characters for saving my dream.
Wren Hunter The Mortal King #book 2 is in the middle of being drafted, and another small secret project that i'm slowly working on beside that. More details will come of this in the future!
Wren Hunter That's an easy one to answer! The best thing about being a writer is creating worlds and characters beyond your imagination. There are multiple whole new worlds out there for you to escape to through the screen of your computer.
Wren Hunter I've never particularly believed in such thing as 'writers block', i just keep pushing through, even if that means slowly and one word at a time.
