Sera Taíno The Navarro's Family series is inspired by my family and their adventures of relocating from Puerto Rico to the US in the 70s, and the Vaivén of their lives thereafter.
Sera Taíno I'm always in the mood to write. My challenge is not being in the mood, it's finding the time. If left to my own resources, I'd write nonstop until it was time to take a nap.
Sera Taíno I'm currently working on Nati Navarro's novel (the third Navarro sibling from A Delicious Dilemma). I will be editing Rafi's book soon. In between, I'm also finishing three short romances from different projects. I also have two books on sub so we'll see where all this leads!
Sera Taíno Persist. Even if you write thirty pages of trash, figure out why it's trash, fix it and move on. Writing is art but writing is also craft and you don't get better if you don't actually work at it. Take a course. Read great books. Be prepared to put year's of apprenticeship into it. But you'll get where you're going if you just keep moving.
Sera Taíno For the duration of time I spend actually drafting, I'm discovering the story as if I were the reader, which is a neat space to inhabit.
Sera Taíno I believe in writer's exhaustion more than writer's block. Sometimes you have to pause, get a good night's sleep, read a really great book and get some fresh air. You can't draw from the well if it's dry.
