Don't every assume you're not good enough, or let someone else tell you you're not. Yes, you'll get better as you learn, but even after years of learning I still go back and read stuff I wrote years ago and am a bit surprised by how good it is. Maybe there's some passive voice and too many dialogue tags, but the heart is there. So don't be daunted, and don't think you have to wait until you're perfect to share your words with the world. Always go after what you love.

It's cathartic. When I was a teenager, I wrote some really dark stuff. My mother asked if I was suicidal. I told her no, not at all. Because I was able to take all the dark emotions and write them out. Writing isn't just what I love, it's an outlet.

I write through it. Even if you write absolute garbage, if you just keep going, usually you find a spark somewhere eventually.

The idea of a magical system consisting of three factors - Creative, Destructive and Neutral - actually came to me as I was researching blood types. Also that each of us has within us the ability to be both creative or destructive, or to stand by and do nothing. We have the choice to follow the darkness or turn toward the light.
