Can you tell us a two-sentence horror story?
Brian Thomas-Peter They spoke of her body, a movie they had seen and something about the new member of the team. She was part and apart of all that was said, waiting for the scalpel, as she lay on the bed.

How do you get inspired to write?
Brian Thomas-Peter Social justice issues always get me going, although I did not start writing about my clinical work in this context until I stopped working. Even then, the writing process is agonizing for me and requires discipline more than inspiration.

What are you currently working on?
Brian Thomas-Peter I am working on a psychological / historical drama, involving a small group of Russian immigrants who came to Canada in 1899 and were treated badly by various governments. The consequences are still being felt.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Brian Thomas-Peter I worked for many years with mentally disordered offenders. There are any number of stories to tell. The interesting thing for me is the layers of concern about people, their evolution, how they are cared for and how services often fail them. I often blog about social justice issues and related political issues. Do follow!
