A.V. Mather The idea for Refuge came from my experiences as a high school teacher, and memories from my own childhood.
A.V. Mather I read, research, converse and view using a wide variety of resources, to keep developing an interested and critical view of the world around me. Books, art galleries, museums, music concerts, libraries, people-watching and overheard conversations - you never know what is going to trigger a response. Also, lots of quiet time to sift through everything I have taken in and make connections.
A.V. Mather The sheer freedom of being able to spend a part of every day living in my imagination.
A.V. Mather I have never had to write to a publisher's deadline, so my advice may not be appropriate. When I have difficulty writing, I either distract myself with a different environment, or try a variety of writing and brainstorming exercises to help me view the work in a different way.
A.V. Mather Morticia and Gomez Addams are my favourite fictional couple, because they embody so many of the qualities of a great romantic partnership. They are unashamedly in love, demonstrative, kind to each other, loyal and supportive of each other and their children.
