This novel was inspired by my own family’s battle with neuroblastoma and what seemed like, at the time, never ending struggles. Like Casey, my younger sister was diagnosed with neuroblastoma at the age of sixteen months old. Our family faced many hard years during and after her cancer, but in the end we survived. Not only did we survive, we are stronger than ever.
