I've always loved comedy which not only makes you laugh, but also pulls on your heart strings. Growing up, my favourite movies were Muriel's Wedding and Four Weddings and a Funeral, I think they're both so sharply written and funny, but also poignant in parts and that's what I was aiming for with Girl In Between. I'm also a big fan of the British series, Gavin and Stacey. The idea for Girl In Between came about when I kept hearing the same issues and concerns and hopes echoed in conversations with my thirty something year old friends. There were so many common threads that emerged that I decided to explore them in a storyline centering around two best friends...Lucy and Rosie. I also wanted to set Girl In Between in regional Australia.
