Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Reagan North I didn't learn a thing about Motivational Interviewing (MI) in my school counseling graduate program. I happened upon MI in my own reading and thought, "This would perfect for school counselors!" I rushed to Amazon to buy the book MI book for school counselors...and was disappointed to find out it didn't exist. Over the next year, I received tons of MI training, read all the books and research articles I could find, and then wrote the book. I have spent much of my free time over the last few years training as many school counselors as I can to use MI.
