Keep faith in yourself and your ideas. Read a lot and work hard. Write every day. The first question an aspiring writer should ask themselves is: "WHY do I want to be a writer?" The second question: "Am I prepared to reorganise my life?" Writing novels is seriously hard work and takes a great deal of time. You must have self-discipline and you have to cut back on time spent with family and friends. People you know may think you're crazy for working so hard but that's part of the package. The best-known writers in the world can afford to retire but they keep writing eight, ten hours a day - week in, week out. The love of the creative process is paramount.
