Despite the fact that I've self-published a book, I really still think of MYSELF as an aspiring writer.
So here's my best advice for ME.
Keep writing.
Don't get discouraged. You don't need sales yet, you just need to enjoy what you're doing.

I go on tumblr and look through images related to what I want to write about. Of course, that can get distracting and then I get stuck, but I find it helpful. I also find that I have my best ideas just before I fall asleep.
