Set a hard deadline for your publishing date. For me, that was opening night of the Broadway musical Come From Away. It forced me to get the first draft written in three months. Also get a great editor!

The producers told me people often said "I never knew anything about this. I want to know more!" So, I penned my first book based on my 2001 experience, and the Pay it Forward 9/11 effort I organized for 15 years.
