I am a huge history nerd! I pull from history a lot. I always loved science fiction like Babylon 5 and star trek, deeper stories that address issues we face so I also will watch current events. often I will have hole scenes hit me at once other times I really have to dig. Once the idea is there I will watch movies with similar tones, listen to soundtracks that feel right. Whatever I can do to immerse myself in the mood I am after.

Good question. If I could travel to any fictional book world I'd likely travel to participate in the gate travel in tunnel in the sky. I love that novel and want to know more about the various planets you can go to!

Write. I know it sounds silly but when I'm stuck I just power through it. Often those sections are not the best, but you can rewrite or edit anything, except a blank page.

Right now I am working on several things. Outpost the follow up for First Command. I am also plotting books 3 and 4. I about 90 through editing Outpost, good progress all around.

Just keep writing. It not easy and like anything the more you do it the better you get. I struggle with some learning disabilities that make it harder. It's easy to give up, especially when financially it doesn't pay well instantly. So keep writing. Keep the ideas coming and don't give up!

The line of battle universe was one I came up with as a kid. I spent hours playing and imagining in it. As an adult I wanted to share it, so I went through came up with characters I could have fun with and set my imagination loose. The result, first command and soon outpost.

The best thing about being a writer is also the scariest. Sharing your ideas and stories with readers. It's very rewarding when someone reads and enjoys what you have lived emotionally for so many months.
