M.K. Lee 'Why can this character not stay in one location for more than a few months before they are frantic to leave again?'
M.K. Lee Tainted By Our Choices is a sort of love letter (I suppose in a few ways) to the environment that I wish we did more to protect. Although it only provides the backdrop to the main element of the story - a romance - it's important, and I had so much fun researching it.
M.K. Lee People. I write a lot in cafes, and people-watching adds so much to characters, picking up nuances, or even things like gestures people make when they're shy/embarrassed. It all fuels the writing.
M.K. Lee Proofreading of a story I hope to have up in a week or so, one in the ABO world (if you've not come across this before, have a Google, it's not for everyone!)
M.K. Lee Never stop or allow self-doubt to get a voice
M.K. Lee Living vicariously through others? Being able to see where a character is going - and more than that, having them surprise you by doing things you never intended them to do. It's incredible seeing them unfold before you :)
M.K. Lee The main thing that helps with writer's block for me is to write something entirely different, preferably a different genre/style - so, for example, if I'm writing a story and get stuck, I go and write poetry, and vice versa. Also asking myself questions about the story helps me talk my way out of any writer's block.
M.K. Lee Well, if we're talking traditional literature, I'll go with the obvious answer of Elizabeth Bennett and Mr Darcy. If we're talking the world of fandoms, I will forever love Mulder and Scully :)
