Of course, I put everything down, go outside and pick up my camera and just try not to focus on anything but the image I'm trying to create.

I met my wife in high school and have lived happily with her since. I pulled on my sleeve and asked myself what things would've been like if her and I would have met then, when I started writing the book. As twenty-something year olds, we were completely different people from when we had met back in high school. At points, it was very hard to imagine what life would have been like without her in it. But it was such an amazing feeling to fall in love again while I wrote The Metronome Heart
