I had a chat with a friend about dating and her reluctance to join Match.com. The conversation resulted in us agreeing that the men she was meeting were possibly looking for their mothers. It sparked the idea of a little old woman running a dating agency in which applicants had to vet prospective dates dressed up as pensioners. It got me thinking about aging and how often it is viewed as a stumbling block. All of these elements combined developed into Granny with Benefits.

I am generally inspired by my family and friends, so I think these types of relationships will be central to my stories.
The older I get, I am more contented by the simpler things in life, but I think life throws you far more curve balls as you get older and these things interest me from a story point of view.
I think I have a twisted sense of the romantic. I am much more interested in the reality of love, than the fantasy of romance, so I will do hearts and flowers, but there are likely to be a few more thorns than petals!

I am working on two books at the moment one about a Popstar Look-a-like and the other about a Grim Reaper. More silly capers grounded in every reality!

You don't need anyone's permission to be a writer, but you do need their support.
Write the book that you would love to read and hopefully it will be a true reflection of who you are as a writer and story you need to tell.
Enjoy the process of writing, the hard work starts once you've finished. Getting your book out there is unrelenting graft!

I think a lot of people read for escapism, but I write for it. It's a chance for me to just enjoy something for the hell of it and 100% my way.
I have an overactive imagination and eye for mundane details, which are strange bedfellows, but I seem to be channeling that into my writing. Only time will tell if it works.

I am writing for fun, so unless I feel in the mood to do it I tend not to write, so that way I avoid having writer's block. The downside to this is that I don't write with regularity, but in bursts of enthusiasm.

I take really bad photos! So I thought I'd put an image of something I like instead!
