Hi Crista, good question! I wanted to inspire inspire others. I wanted to let others know they weren't alone whether it be fiction or non-fiction. "Trace The Grace" ended up being a non-fiction story of my life, but I am currently working on a teen fiction story!

Writing my first book has been a painstaking process, and in my case, it took ten years of patience. Be kind and fair to yourself while your brain works out the kinks in your story. This is especially true for young authors. Above all else, be patient!

My memoir is about my life as a person with a debilitating disease and Christian faith. I had originally started it at age fifteen. I revisited my original work from my mid- late teens when I was twenty- four and finished it in three months.

I get inspired to write through personal experiences. Trace The Grace is completely non-fiction, but I typically like to write from reality and add little elements of fiction. Making a stroll through Homewood, Alabama or the walks I take around the lake behind my house a fateful experience. I also get inspired by doing other creative activities like listening to music, writing songs, singing, and sewing pieces of clothing.
