Amber Hurdle Writing is a natural thing for me. Perhaps the better question is how do you ensure you have a desire to write regularly? I've journaled since I was a child and have always liked putting my ideas into words -- both to reflect on my own thoughts, and to reference past thoughts to look for growth, patterns, or even fond memories. Sometimes what I share publicly comes from my journal notes. It's a great tool for personal development and to spur creativity
Amber Hurdle Create a road map for your writing. Thinking about writing an entire book can be overwhelming. Having even a loose plan that creates a sense of order for the reader will help you understand how you want the reader to experience your content.
Amber Hurdle Writing from a deep place of empathy and love for women in business, it is especially rewarding to be able to reach more women than I possibly could in my consulting practice or even from a stage while speaking. I look forward to repeating that for leaders and more in the future!
Amber Hurdle The Bombshell Business Woman is the answer to the common struggles I've observed working with women in business. I see there is a constant pull within driven women, who are trying to do it all and be it all in their businesses and their lives. They end up feeling like they are doing nothing well, and then society only compounds that lie with absurd expectations ranging from taking the perfect selfie and having a Pinterest perfect life to battles over whether a "good mom" is a working mom or stay-at-home mom, and beyond.

When I realized how many amazing women didn't see themselves as "next level" talented as I did, I knew I had to create a community and a brand to remind them of who they were made to be and who they could become. I wanted to empower Bombshells (bold, brave, female entrepreneurs) first, and then help them with business mastery once they genuinely believed they could conquer any business challenge. I knew I had to be open about my own story before getting into the "how to" of doing business, as I had to reveal that even someone who has made really poor decisions in her past still has the capacity to do great things. I had to eliminate excuses so we could focus on what had to be done in one's business.

I realized not everyone can afford me, so I needed to share what I know in a more affordable way in a greater scale. I was also frustrated by the great fluff or lack of tactical advice I found in many business books. My Bombshells are too busy to deconstruct the "to-dos" in a string of too many words and stories. They just need to know what to take action on...now. So I set out to create a book that laid out the exact path to work through business operations in a way that will lead to measurable growth, confidence and less time living in the weeds.

I hope this book answers those challenges for Bombshells, worldwide.
Amber Hurdle I combat writers block with music, a timer (I love a deadline) or a prompt, like a question I have to answer through my writing. When it's really tough, I go into nature. :)
Amber Hurdle My first instinct is to say Narnia. As a child the thought of walking through the wardrobe into the magical land with a strong calling to help it tapped into my inner warrior. Life is bigger than what our day-to-day reveals. We have to step up to and aspire for more if we are going to create an impact. I never watched the movie because I was afraid it would spoil what my wild, childhood imagination created.
