Let. Go.
Don't try to break past it. You will only frustrate yourself, which only makes the block stronger (at least it does for me). Just relax, walk away from writing for a minute. Do other things. Do something that maybe has a correlation to your story. For me, that something is martial arts. I love it! And with Ethereal being centered around an assassin, martial arts is a huge aspect. And boy does it blow my mind wide open!
Also, staying very active stokes my brain flames! If you let your body become stagnant, guess what? Your brain will follow.
Get your heart rate up every single day. Break a sweat doing something you enjoy! For me, it's yoga every damn day, and martial arts. I swear, if I don't practice yoga on the daily, I'm a basket-case.

If whatever you're writing lights your soul on fire, consuming your every thought, DO NOT STOP! Keep writing! Let it do its thing, and take over your mind. Don't fight it. And don't try to force it. Let it flow.

The rest of The Ice Mage Saga. Book two is about halfway complete (pre editing), and I've been continuing to work my way through it. Books three and four are about a quarter of the way, and I have the final scene of the entire saga completed. It's quite emotional, to put it lightly.

This is tricky for me to answer, because I don't feel like my inspiration is entirely in my control. Dreams and never-ceasing visions throughout my days are what brings it all around. And most of the time, after I've lost myself to the journey of writing, I don't remember what I wrote! When I go back and read whatever came out of me, it always blows my mind!
