Just do it, or start doing it, and learn along the way. A friend of mine did an excellent job of writing a blog, I pushed him to write a book, he is now working on his third book.

Several books including a cook book, another Political Commentary book, a book about the History of Christian Violence, three books on Investing, Stock Trading, and Portfolio Strategies. and a Children's book about Money. As I get inspired about a topic, I will write about that topic, when I have enough written, then begins the formatting process. Then I write to fill in the missing pieces of the overall concept, then proofread, and publish.

I did many technical writing projects for work. A friend of mine started writing poetry books, and stories, I began to think that I could transition to writing books as well.
