Gina Perry Try not to filter yourself in a first draft. No idea is too ridiculous. In fact, the most ridiculous ideas can often be the best. Don't be afraid of that ugly first pass at a story. And above all - read, read, read.
Gina Perry I was sitting in my doctor's office waiting for my appointment when the idea for SMALL struck me. I had my infant daughter with me in her car carrier and I was thinking of all the things that made ME feel small and to be uplifting - all the things that made me feel big. The words were scarce but I knew I had something special. It took me a long time to figure out the right arc for the story, but I always loved the idea of setting our small heroine in a city.
Gina Perry I'm illustrating a follow up to TOO MUCH! NOT ENOUGH! called NOW? NOT YET! to be released in August of 2019. I love that I can tell another story with Peanut and Moe - they had too much personality for one book, they needed another!
