Cathy Cole In the 1920’s, my great grandmother’s two brothers went missing. The granddaughter of one turned up 30-odd years later, but nothing has ever been heard from the second brother.

I’d love to know why the brothers stayed away for so long, and what happened to the second brother that he never wanted to (or couldn't) come home.
Cathy Cole I work on something else. Or do research. Sometimes, all it takes is a spark of an idea to get me started again.
Cathy Cole Creating new friends and placing them in a world that belongs solely to you. It's the most amazing feeling to see your work come alive on the page.
Cathy Cole My next novel, 'The Hungry Ghosts', which is another mystery/suspense. It’s out with Beta readers at the moment, so I know I’ll have a lot of edits to do when they’re done. While I’m waiting, I’ve started to sketch out another novel tentatively titled 'Legacy'.
Cathy Cole Write what inspires you and don’t give up. Writing can be hard, it can also be lonely, but there’s no feeling in the world like finally completing the first draft of a novel.
Cathy Cole Some days it’s easy, the words flow from my keyboard and scenes slot into place. Other days, it’s a chore to get even a paragraph down. If I waited for inspiration, I’d never get anything done. I make myself write every day, even if it’s rubbish.
Cathy Cole I’ve always been in awe of the work that the emergency services do - never more so than on 9/11. They are a tight unit, more like family, which got me thinking. What if a firefighter thought a murderous arsonist was at work, and none of her comrades believed her? How would she react? What, if anything, could she do? From those questions, the story was born.
