John Hollenkamp Being able to be vengeful ... and write some characters into your story, knowing you have control over life and death...hahahaha.
Just joking... sort of...
No. For me it's about the creation of an imaginative story set in a realistic 'theatre', where each chapter tells a short story to be woven into the larger 'picture'. Although my stories are gritty, I also aim to present a measure of thought behind the characters I create, so they become believable.
John Hollenkamp The guy that flicked beer bottle caps at me at the Mona Vale Hotel, in 1988. He was itching for a blue. I didn't even know him. My mate suggested we leave, it was late and we'd had plenty to drink. But what if I hadn't left? ...

John Hollenkamp I am working a stand-alone sequel to my first novel, STEALTH, and am about a third of the way through...
John Hollenkamp I view the writing process as a disciplined activity; some days writing can be laborious, other times it flows like a river. At some point, I do walk away and take leave for a few days, sometimes a week or more. I don't fight it. Eventually it comes together.
