Wendy J. Reber I walk dogs or jump on the treadmill and listen to rock or even heavy metal (never harsh vocals)...clears the mind. Makes me aware there are MANY other writers out there jotting down their creative work, and I am a flea on a big dog. I don't take myself too seriously--bogs down the creative juices.
Wendy J. Reber Writing when I want to or need to, and not writing when I don't.
Wendy J. Reber Be prepared to WORK. This is a DIY industry just as cut-throat as any other. Self publish if a large house or indie publisher does not pick you up within 6-10 month's time. Do not go with a vanity publisher. Do your due diligence to know the difference. Know small indie's (who are essentially self-publishing your work and getting $%$ of your royalties) go out of business with some regularity.
Wendy J. Reber Book 4 in my Legs of Life series, "A Three Legged Race." But the better title would be "Taking the Dread out of Deirdre." (Too bad its not a stand alone.)
Wendy J. Reber I was recovering from disc fusion surgery in my neck and my little sister (I have four) said, "You aughta write a book, Wen." I relied, "Ok, I will..." My downtime turned into a full time job. Lol. One book morphed into three, and I am working on a FOUR.
Wendy J. Reber Childhood memories and lifetime experiences lead me to write A Long Legged Life. It is a story about resilience and resurrection touching on all-too-common social issues like domestic violence, sexual harassment in the workplace, and the predicament of enduring a double life.
