If you have something important to share, make the time to sit down alone at the computer, turn everything else off, and simply type it out. Say it, as if to someone you admire and who admires you. Put it all on paper and then hire an excellent editor. It's when you're working with your editor that you begin fine-tuning your message, not before.

Writer's block really hasn't been a problem for me with writing about dementia. I began working one-on-one with people experiencing dementia and living in their own homes seven years ago. Ever since, I've been mulling over the best ways to communicate what they've been teaching me about how to live and work with dementia. My work days are so full that when I do get a chance to sit down and write, it's very pleasant to be able to focus on writing an explanation of a technique or tip as plainly and fully as possible.
