I am currently writing a few children books, one being part of the Kitty Adventures, so I am reviewing the competitive landscape by getting to know other authors and reading their children's' books. Currently, for summer I am reading J.Y. Harris and Jan Brett for younger readers. For non fiction education, I am reading Connie Rice, B. O'Reilly, and H. Clinton... I am dealing with writer's block right now by sharing the current problem with you. Most of the time, I just sit down at my computer and slowly and consistently, the problem resolves itself. My father taught me to simply do. Just do. One of my sayings, for many years now, is "It's all in the doing."
However, I believe I am currently blocking because my fiction story is based on a true matter close to my heart, my passed away step-dad, Pop, and his cat. Every fictional chapter I outline, I see the possibility of him living the same chapter.
Progress is slow; however, I know that showing up is half of the battle. It will come. Thanks for reading.
