To answer your question: Most of my stories originate in my own mind and most of the time not even I know where they are leading until I'm there.
When family or fans suggest story lines I always have an open ear, I cannot promise though that I will incorporate those ideas in my books. Sometimes I ask my readers for name suggestions for characters in my stories :)

I don't. It's part of the process. Normally I enjoy the time when my brain isn't ready to tell a story, yet. It means nice afternoons with friends and family, reading, music...
