So far it hasn't happened. When I write, I tend to be answering questions; if there isn't a question to answer, then there's not a lot of point in writing it.

The best thing about being a writer is when you get feedback that lets you know your book has helped someone in some way, or that they've gained value from reading it. That's the best. I think that's why I prefer non-fiction; you can give direct, actionable information, that people can immediately apply to their own lives.

Figure out when the most productive time of the day is for you. For me, it's in the morning before work, when I'm still fresh. Make a habit of doing at least 20-30 minutes of writing at that time, each work day, and take the weekend off.
It all adds up... and the benefit to making it a habit is that once something is a habit, it's automatic and easy. You just keep doing it without having to think twice. The second important part of this is to protect that time - in my case, I also made a habit of going to bed earlier than many because that meant I would definitely have the writing time I needed the next day.

Currently I'm conducting experiments! Science in the name of fun. The name of the game this time is to inspire people to have a lot of fun with re-purposing a particular piece of furniture and equipment for BDSM fun and games... and I am DEFINITELY going to write up the results. It's going to be a good time, and will hopefully help a lot of people

Typically, I'll run into a problem of some kind, or somebody will ask me something. And I'll think, hey, I can solve that. And then, hey. Now I can help other people solve that! And then I write about it.

I had a girlfriend who wanted me to tie her up - so I wanted to learn how. But it was all a mystery to me, including what she was supposed to get out of it. So I set about learning - only to find that people didn't answer some of the most important questions. Sure, they could tell me how to tie someone up - there was lots of tutorials etc online; but they couldn't tell me why it was hot, or how to make it sexy, or any of the really useful stuff!
That was frustrating. Sooooo frustrating.
So I learned how and why and how to have a very good time with it... and then I created a book designed to show exactly that, so that I could help other people who were in the same position I had been.
