Mark Henson I write at the same time -- always in morning. I seem to have more brainpower then and much less writer's block.
Mark Henson Writing in coffee shops. The energy of being around other people without having to worry about being interrupted is weirdly satisfying. Plus, I'm a people watcher, so when I write in a coffee shop, I often take breaks and just watch people come and go. The whole world moves through a coffee shop in an hour.
Mark Henson Hire a good editor to review your work. I thought I was a good writer until I hired an editor. Even having someone edit a blog post or short piece is worth doing because they see all of your crutches and bad habits right away. I'm a much better writer now that I've learned from my editor.
Mark Henson I'm currently still running my company (sparkspace), but I'm also conducting workshops around my Ordinary Superpowers book. I'm also putting together a weekend summer camp experience for adults where we will all disconnect from technology and reconnect to people and nature. Very excited about this idea...and everyone I share it with gets very excited, too!
Mark Henson I write in the morning when I have the most energy and brainpower. Sometimes I struggle, but not very often. Usually since it's the first thing I do in the morning, my brain is pretty ready to go.

I stay inspired by keeping my brain full of new ideas. I read, I travel, I explore. I have always found that the more new experiences I put in my brain, the more creative I am.
Mark Henson The idea for Ordinary Superpowers came from being in limbo in my life -- you know, during a time when I just couldn't seem to get momentum in my life or get excited about the future. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to be when I grew up.

So I started a process of self-discovery (or re-discovery). I identified my greatest strengths (my Ordinary Superpowers) and started using them more proactively and intentionally. And it helped pull me out of limbo and led to more and more exciting work for me.

That's when I thought it might be helpful for other people, too.
