I think about the next scene, or even consider revising the one I just did. It's okay to think ahead of the scene that you're already in, so that it helps you explore where you want to end up. It's simply finding a different puzzle piece to help build the story until that one falls into place. Never stop writing, just focus on another part of the story, whether that's through Idea webs, scenes, or dialogue. It's a valuable exercise!
