Timothy Gwyn No.
Wait... who's there?
Timothy Gwyn Well, this is kind of a random question. I don't think there are many mysteries in my life, beyond "where do the socks go?" This comes to mind because I had to move the washing machine last week, and a long-lost sock was recovered from the drift of dryer lint and far-flung cat litter huddling in the farthest recesses of the laundry room. Sadly, it was not the one sock we have long hoped to find. In fact, I think its partner has been tossed long ago, so it has been rescued from its long purgatory only to find itself still alone, except for the company of the other widowed socks gathering dust behind the upstairs television.
So, yes: mystery, intrigue, and umm, pathos?
Timothy Gwyn I'm one of those who likes to "write the story you want to read," so I love to spin tales about underdogs in fantastic places. I'm most excited about writing when I think of a way that a single sentence can reveal the complexity of a character or world.
Timothy Gwyn Badly! I do a lot of ruminating and procrastinating. If I force myself to the keyboard before I have a solution in mind, I don't magically solve the problem, I just write bad paragraphs.
Timothy Gwyn The exchanges with other writers. Conversations and correspondence with authors further along than me have been a great help, and in small ways I'm able to give some back now. That feels wonderful.
Timothy Gwyn Go to workshops. Seek out Blue-Pencil cafés at conventions. Join a critique group.
Timothy Gwyn A sequel to Avians called Bandits. A warlord is trying to turn a refugee crisis into a coup. Mel and Raisa have to find new ways to work together to stop him.
Timothy Gwyn Oppositeland. I work in an aviation industry that's dominated by fossil fuels, metal aircraft, and male pilots. I thought it would be fun to turn that all around and explore a greener kind of flying.
