That I can put all the ideas in my head out in a written form so (a) they can be shared with others, and (b) there is room for new ideas and new things to think about.

I don't. It's really hard. At any time, I have at least 10 things to do, and if there's a particular piece of writing I need to complete, I will just push it to the back of the queue. Going for a walk and clearing my head sometimes help. The other thing I tried for a while was going to a different physical space away from my regular distractions, and that was helpful.

My second book (which was actually my first). It's been 80% finished for about a year, and I took a break to write Transition and publish that. It's about the impact of social media on society, which is something I think about and read about several times a week. I've turned my attention back to this topic and am determined to get that book finished and out later this year.

Ideas keep forming and then floating around in my head - particularly when I go for walks, and when lying in bed. They are bursting forth to get out so they can be shared, and that drives my need to write. Most of the time, it's articles, and some of the bigger ideas can be turned into books.

I've been involved in the intergenerational & philanthropy space for several years through member organisations, and also as a speaker to private wealth audiences. Writing a book was a great way to consolidate what I've learned and share it with others.
