Steve M. Plotting the next story in the History Department at the University of Centrum Kath series. This one will be about The First McGee, the person most responsible for how civilization in the universe is organized.
She is an improbable. In a near infinite universe there are people who when given a coin will toss it and get 30 HEADS in a row. Our universe pushes everything towards the mean. An obscure mathematics professor in a distant galaxy believes that it is possible to determine when the pressure builds up too much to force results back to the mean (50% heads, 50% tails). The learned professor also believes that it is possible to identify those people who will get 30 HEADS in a row. These people are called IMPROBABLES. There are 31 of them identified throughout the universe. They need them to make strategy decisions in the intergalactic war. The problem is that they can't tell whether the person will make ALL GOOD or ALL BAD decisions.
Steve M. I've got more ideas than time to write them all. I keep a list of ideas. The story if its well plotted and the characters are thoroughly fleshed out, then the inspiration comes easy.
Forced Entry 1 - the first draft for it was written in a weekend. The story was hot and I had to get it down fast. Then I polished it for several weeks.
Steve M. My most recent book, Forced Entry 4: a Killing in Colorado came about when I needed a break from writing Sci-Fi Satire and returned to my roots in crime thrillers. Wanted the narrator to return to the business he had left only to find the business had left him behind too. Its a cannabis related story told from the grower's perspective.
