There used to be woods behind the house where I grew up. You could hear the owls and the foxes and see a lot of critters. I wrote a fun poem about those woods. It morphed into a beautiful picture book.

Write, write, write... read, read, read. It's so important to read both in the genre you want to write and outside of it. It opens your mind to different styles of writing and helps shape your idea of what you think is good writing and bad writing. Then, don't stop writing :)
