Reader feedback inspires me. The idea that I WANT to do this forever (and can do it anywhere in the world) inspires me. I find inspiration during long walks in nature, in hot showers, while exercising (hard core), while cooking and reading!!! I don't sit down each day to write and perform an inspiration ritual. I sit down and write each day NO MATTER WHAT. That's what works for me. I have a word count that I hit or I am editing or outlining. I'm not saying that method works for everyone but it works for me. :)

The characters downloaded into my head -- this happens most often during a hot shower!! Sometimes I read a fantastic book and I think (how the heck did they think of that)? And then a week or two later - BAM - I get a new idea that's completely different from what I just read, thankfully! One of my ideas came to me from reading someone's facebook post! My most recent book is the same - it's based on a secondary character and it's her story.

I'm currently editing Book 4 (Burgundy the Vampire's book) in the Distant Edge Romance series, I'm co-writing a series of shorts with another author and I'm outlining Book 5 (Iphigenia the Witch's book) in the DE Series.

What worked for me was hiring an editor who gave me deadlines - she needed the first draft by (date), second draft by (date), etc. Then I put a pre-order up on Amazon and I had to get it out by then. I also like to say that no matter how much you work on it, it will never be "perfect" - there's such thing as "good enough". So publish!! If you're afraid to put it under your real name, use a pen name!!!

Getting the crazy out!! :) Seriously though the best thing (so far) are the readers. Making people happy, hearing when people like what I've written, interacting with readers!!

Push through it. I had what I call "true writer's block" once where I couldn't even journal or write emails so I didn't. It was awful! Now when I get stuck on something I just push through it knowing I can edit something that's not good but you can't edit words that aren't on a page/in a computer document. I also may switch to writing longhand, grab a writing prompt (something that's not my current WIP) or journal. Taking a hot shower also seems to get my creative juices flowing!
