Doug Archer Before every writing project, I develop an outline or storyboard for the tale. It is my roadmap for the story, so that I always know where I am going with it. This way if I ever get stuck at a point as I am writing the story, or struggle with what to write, I simply refer to my 'map' and it helps me to see my way clear of the blockage.

Doug Archer Keep a journal and write in it everyday. Making an entry in a diary or journal each day not only allows you to practice the art of writing, it also allows you to practice different styles of writing. By writing everyday -- even if it is only a sentence or two -- you can't help but become better at your craft.
