Hi Debbie, I have just come across your references to the Ambassadors Cafe in Sydney. Of particular interest to me is the name of the band that played there in 1924. I understand you didn't use this in your manuscript, but would you be able to tell me how you found the name of the band and, if possible, what it was? Regards, Catherine
Debbie Robson Hi Catherine I'm sorry I just saw this. I believe I found it in a booklet on the Ambassadors Cafe with pictures of the band. I still have the booklet. I would have to hunt it out but let me know on half dot moon dot bay at bigpond dot com if you would like me to copy it for you.

Debbie Robson Wow that is not an easy question to answer. For my novels it is a slow process of getting to know the character as I write the manuscript. Initially the character will come to me as part of a whole idea. Simple outlines but then as the writing progresses I get to understand the character more and more. I do not do a lot of planning ahead. For my disgraced angel stories it was a slow process of writing story after story to get to know him and to show how he evolved living on earth over a 42 year period. Also complicated by the fact that I began writing about him, in chronologically, what was not an early story.
