If only there was an easy solution!
My biggest weapon if I feel stuck is to stop and walk away. Remove my focus from writing and put it somewhere else for a while. Then, at the most random moments, ideas can flare up again, and light the way forward.

Two big things for me:
1. Writing my story and experiencing the journey that my characters go through has been an incredible growing experience for me. It has taught me a lot about myself, my fears, my motivations, the things I am looking to find in life. I never would have learned the things I had if I never started writing to begin with.
2. Hearing readers come back to me, saying that my story moved them, made them think, made them laugh, made them cry, is a tremendous feeling. To know that I created something that changes not just my life but other lives as well is one of the most powerful feelings in the world.

Don't be intimidated. It took me several years to finish my book, and I didn't have all the answers on Day 1. Everything starts with a single step, so just worry about taking that first step, then the next small step after that. If you have characters that speak to you, they will help show you the way forward. You never know, what starts as just a small seed of your imagination could bloom into a beautiful story, so don't be afraid to try.

Right now focusing on getting The Wayward Astronomer into bookstores nationwide and sharing my story with the world. I have some ideas for a second book, but none I'm ready to share right this second.

Usually seeing a great movie, reading a great book or comic, or listening to some powerful music all helps stir the imagination. It's hard to go "looking" for inspiration, but if you go with the flow, different things can spark it.

The Wayward Astronomer came about because I was trying to explore who "My Dreamkeeper" would be because I fell in love with the universe that David Lillie had created and wanted to explore it with my own character. Hal, the protagonist of Wayward was born, and what started as just some writing experiments to flesh him out slowly snowballed into a full on novel over the course of over 4 years.
