Devon Atwood I'm always working on the same yin and yang sort of projects: one rom-com and one fantasy. Sometimes alternating and sometimes one at a time, but there is always one of those I'm hopping between.
Devon Atwood Keep writing. Even if you think it sucks and even if no one is reading it yet, keep writing. The only way to improve is to do, and not everything you write has to be "the one." Write whole books that never see the light of day or poetry that ends up cheesy. Just keep at it until you have a story that you cannot wait to share with someone.
Devon Atwood The best thing about being a writer is the thrill I get when an idea in my head hits the paper just right. It's that moment when I know I nailed it, where the scene I imagined actually took a breath and came to life. Just call me Frankenstein.
Devon Atwood I don't believe in writer's block! No, really, I don't. I think writers have high-energy cycles and low-energy cycles, and I am very kind to myself during low-energy writing cycles. I let it breathe, I write something else, I read other works to fill my creative well, or I do nothing at all. I always get my mojo back when I am gentle with my creativity.
