Suzanne Winslow I treasure the ability to write almost anywhere-inside, outside, in the car, at the lake, at my kids' houses. I also appreciate the flexibility to make my own schedule. If something comes up during the day, I can write at night. Same for weekdays and weekends, though I typically write every day.
Suzanne Winslow At the moment, I'm drafting Backfire, book 3 of the Smoke and Fire series. It's a challenge because the story is heading in an unexpected direction. I'm a plotter, not a pantser. Pantsers sit down and write their hearts out. I have to have an idea of where my story is going. If I don't, I stare at my laptop for hours. I'm cool with characters taking the wheel from time-to-time, but right now they've tied my wrists and stuffed me in the backseat! It would be nice if they would share their ideas with me ahead of time!
Suzanne Winslow I'm usually reading 2-3 books in the same week. They could be a JD Robb In Death book, an ARC or new release by an author I know, and a contemporary romance recommended online or by a friend. I don't watch a lot of television so I like to spend my evenings in a book. So far this summer, I've read JD Robb, Kayley Loring, Melanie A Smith, Jody Kaye, Lucinda Race, Janet Evanovich, Marie Force, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Taryn Sloane, Judy Kentrus, and Janine Caroline.
