(view spoiler)[Hello Mike! Huge fan of your works here, especially Malus Darkblade and the Nagash trilogy. Just finished the other Time of Legends trilogy War of Vengeance and now I have a lore question; the three dark elves who instructed Nagash in magic (Drutheira, Malchior and Ashniel) were also major characters in War of Vengeance but were killed off in both trilogies, is this an inconsistency or is there a hidden outcome? Ty! (hide spoiler)]

Hi! First, many apologies for taking this long to reply to your question! This appears to be an inconsistency (possibly intentionally, to show that these legends are just that - dimly remembered tales of a long-forgotten age). There was certainly no hidden outcome that I'm aware of.
Thanks for the question! I hope you liked the books, inconsistencies and all! :)

Hi, Calib: Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed The Daemon's Curse. Unfortunately, I no longer have a copy of "Cruel as Ice" - it was lost in a hard drive crash several years ago. I hope you like the rest of the Malus Darkblade series, and I'd love to hear your thoughts about the stories when you're done. Thanks again, and happy reading!

Aw, that's too bad. I really enjoyed it, from what I remember, but to be honest, I wanted to read it again for the lore about Blackguards. I enjoy writing myself (though obviously not in any legitimate form, and never published, nor to any fanfiction boards), and I wanted another look at the internal structure of their organization for a character I'm writing. Oh well. I just bought Bloodstorm, great so far! I've read many Warhammer books over the years, but there's something utterly fascinating about the Darkblade series. For me, I think it's because the protagonist isn't the typical fantasy hero, or even anti-hero. In any other story, from any other perspective, Malus would be the Big Bad villain.
It's easy to say, when writing small flavor text in an army manual that "these guys are evil, they torture and kill", but to take that concept and form a functioning society around it, and make it feel solid, old and full of customs unique to that society, is something else entirely, and thus far, I thoroughly enjoy reading it. ...more
