It wasn't meant to be a book. I started to write to try and clear my mind, understand who I was and what I was experiencing. I guess, being both a diarist and previous songwriter (and fledgling screenwriter), I naturally formed it in a way that was easy to read and enjoyable. Before long, I was writing a book, so just carried on.

I just write. Anything. I can always go back and fix it but, more often than not, it results in a new, interesting direction I had not thought of before (answer relates to previous songs written and screenplays).

Life was a mystery to me after I quit rock n' roll, moving to the other end of the country leaving everything I knew behind. So I wrote a book about it and, although my second book is not a memoir, it is loosely based on my experiences.
