As I'm in Australia we're heading into winter. Therefore, enjoying reading in the warm open air is becoming an indoors thing.

I have two projects on the go at the moment. One has been around for 15 years with 150,000 words down and more to come. I feel it will turn out to be a three-volume saga based in the 60s with swinging London and the Vietnam war as the theme.
The other is a contemporary political thriller surrounding one of the worlds newest countries, Timor Leste. The continued political wrangling over the riches from the surrounding sea keeps changing the ending.

Take a break. Go for a walk. Do some gardening. Read a book. The urge to get back to writing will come.
Don't fight it. There is a reason for coming to a brick wall. It could be a logistical hiccup that needs to be sorted out. The character is fighting against your intended direction. Or you have simple run out of an idea.
My experience is that, whatever the reason, the answer will wake you in the middle of the night.
