Hello, Sam! You are too kind. I can't tell you how much it gratifies me to hear that you enjoyed Pandora’s Pause. I released it as a free story to my newsletter subscribers and Facebook followers and, therefore, it isn’t hosted anywhere that accepts reviews except on YouTube, where I posted the audio. I’d very much appreciate a review there if you’re so inclined, but no pressure. Simply reaching out is quite the boon to this author’s soul. ;-)
Here’s a link to the audio on YouTube: https://youtu.be/XsUn60XD3V4?si=-H4Nb...
And, if you’re not already subscribed to my newsletter, do sign up, I have two more free stories I offer subscribers. Visit my website to sign up: davidalanjones.com
Thanks,

Though my idea differs significantly, the foundation comes from an epic fantasy novel I read a few years ago--not the plot, but some of the basic conceits.

I read without ceasing. If you ask me what I'm currently reading, I'll usually name two to three novels.

I recently sold a three book series, with more in the offing, to Chris Kennedy Publishing. The first book is called CLUTCH. It is an urban fantasy/thriller series which revolves around a young FBI agent, Philip Klein, who has the power to freeze items (guns, phones, etc.) in the past and reel them back to the present at need.

I'm afraid my advice differs little from what you'll find anywhere on the interwebs: read constantly and write constantly. Study the craft. Let your work suck, because it's going to suck. Then figure out why and fix it.

I rarely suffer from it. However, I suffer from severe writer's distraction, mostly in the form of clicking on social media links--Facebook is the most common culprit. To fight it, I set times for when I'm allowed to cruise the net unchecked.
