I watched a documentary that mentioned a weird loophole in Dutch civil law, suggesting that 30 years after stealing a work of art, the thief could become its legal owner. I thought, hmm, that might be interesting for a story. So I invented some characters, including an artist, some paintings, and a museum, and set to work on 'The girl with two goats and the guy who stole her'.
