S.M. Lee Hello! Yes, it IS still coming. Progress has just been very slow for a while. A lot has been going on the past few years. I know that there are people out there who are actually waiting for it! So it is coming! I just ask that folks continue to be patient.
S.M. Lee She hadn't been to class all semester. And she had her final exam in 2 hours.
S.M. Lee Now this kind of depends... Sometimes I deal with it by putting my notebook down and not touching it for weeks or months. Which, I'm trying to get out of the habit of doing. Other times, I deal with it by going for a long walk with my dog to try to work out how things should go. Or other times I'll go back and reread everything that I've written (often starting from a new section) to see what might work best.
S.M. Lee This may be cheesy, but the best thing about being a writer is knowing that people are out there enjoying my stories. And for some, the stories might mean a lot, whether it's because of a part that made them feel strong or understood, or that they finally have more representation. Whatever the reason, I'm just happy that my work can reach people and mean something to at least some of them.
S.M. Lee Set goals for yourself. Some writers say that you have to try to write EVERYDAY, but for some of us, that's not feasible due to life. So, instead, make goals like to write at least 2-3 scenes a week or at least 10 pages or whatever it may be. And if you're struggling to start your book, as so many are, I have to say just start writing. Even if you don't necessarily start at the very beginning. Just start writing something. Whatever comes to mind. It doesn't have to be perfect when it first comes out. That's what editing is for.
S.M. Lee I'm currently working on The Chronicles of Arenacea Book Two as well as a sci-fi series and a YA fantasy series. I have ideas for several more books, but haven't really started working on any of them just yet.
S.M. Lee I actually got the idea for The Chronicles of Arenacea in a dream, as silly as it sounds. I dreamt that I was the only woman fighting in a battle with a bunch of men. And then, after a short while of fighting, we all stopped to have dinner together. While we were having dinner, I found myself attracted to one of the women serving us and she just happened to be from the side we were fighting. But we were in love, so I didn't care. When I woke up the next day my brain just started working and before I knew it, I had a decent storyline though I didn't actually begin to write anything down for quite a while.
