What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Craig Leener Tell everyone in your life that you're writing a book. Everyone! That way, you have nowhere to run — you absolutely have to finish it. Also, when a story idea pops into your head, drop everything you're doing and write it down. Those are fleeting moments of insight that you must respect.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Craig Leener Without a doubt, it's signing books for young readers at schools, libraries and basketball camps.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Craig Leener I shoot free throws in the backyard. I'm able to take the rhythm of knee-elbow-wrist into my writing lab.

If you could travel to any fictional book world, where would you go and what would you do there?
Craig Leener I would travel to Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1891 to bear witness to Dr. James Naismith's invention of the game of basketball.

What books are on your summer reading list this year?
Craig Leener I'm currently reading "The Razor's Edge" by W. Somerset Maugham. On deck is "Hyperion" by Dan Simmons.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Craig Leener The storyline for Book 3 of this trilogy came to me while I was sitting in the chapel at the New Camaldoli Hermitage in the hills above Big Sur, California.

Craig Leener I'm currently writing the final book of this Zeke Archer basketball trilogy.
