Brian Quirke I live in the south of Ireland, right in the middle of the countryside. When we have nice, warm weather like we do now, its lovely. When we don't, which is most of the time... Its a bit like what you'd imagine Atlantis would be like.
Everything's just kind of damp and depressing :)
Brian Quirke To be honest, it doesn't.
Despite what many people might think, growing up in the middle of nowhere does little for your imagination. There are no rolling hills that hobbits might hide in, and there certainly aren't any castles that I can look at.
What influences me are the people I live near. Some are good, some are bad, and I suppose I let their personalities influence my characters, but as far as the scenery goes, there's not a whole lot to look at :)

Another excellent question, T.J:)
Brian Quirke Oooh good one :)

Its gotta be video games. I've been spending way too much time on Total War Warhammer 2 lately(Dark Elves ftw)

If not gaming, then maybe a little graphic design, some Blender maybe, anything to keep my imagination going :)

Thanks for the great question!
Brian Quirke Keep going. Keep writing.
Brian Quirke No idea. It just kind of... came to me?
Brian Quirke Ever since I was a child, I knew I wanted to write, so every chance I had, I was scribbling away. Now that I'm older, I can look back on those scribbles, and see the bones of something I'd like to write.
Brian Quirke Currently, I'm working on the second of my Unique Forge series.
The Unique Forge Series, Book 2: Claw.
Brian Quirke The freedom. A writer can create an entire world, filled with whatever they want. They can alter it in any way, shape, or form, and no-one can tell them not to.
Brian Quirke I tend to plan out each chapter before I even start writing, so I know where everything is supposed to go. The few times I have been the victim of WB, I went back over what I was writing until I knew where I wanted the chapter to go.
