Jenna Zark First of all, I can't wait for summer! I want to read Montauk, by Max Frisch, because I've spent time in Montauk visiting friends - and would love to learn a little more about it. Sag Harbor is #2 on my list for the very same reason!

I also want to read Lucy by the Sea by Elizabeth Strout because I love, love, love her writing - and the first book certainly captivated me.
Jenna Zark I try to write through it, even if what I'm writing doesn't work. Isaac Bashevis Singer once said a writer's best friend is the garbage and I agree. I fully expect to throw out half of what I'm writing.

On days when nothing is working, I walk, talk to friends, see movies, read, do all the things I do when I'm not writing - then start again the next day.
Jenna Zark Telling stories that intrigue you and intrigue your readers. Being able to tell them your way.
Jenna Zark Do whatever you can to live as fully as possible and find stories that intrigue you. If you spend only 30 minutes a day writing, that can be fine as long as you are passionate about those 30 minutes.
Jenna Zark Book 2 of the Beat Street Series, called Fool's Errand - but I don't want to share too much about it at this point!
Jenna Zark I don't know that I need to be inspired, really. For me, it's more of needing to write to stay sane. And the people I meet, or see or learn about and the stories I read more or less lead me to the ideas I need to keep writing.
Jenna Zark I used to live in Northern New Jersey, just a bus ride away from Manhattan. When my sister and her boyfriend brought me to Greenwich Village to see a play, I fell in love with the neighborhood. The more I learned about the history of the area, including stories about Beat Generation artists, the more I thought it would make a great setting for a novel.
